چکیده

Forty (40), thirteen weeks old cockerels were allocated to five dietary treatments after balancing for weight. The eight birds on each treatment replicated four times, such that two served as a replicate. In diet 1 (control) contain 0% Palm Kernel Cake (KPC) and Deoiled (DOC). Diet 2 3 continued 40% KPC, was presented in mash form while pellet. Diets 4 5 contained DOC, % Dietary had no effect (P>0.05) daily weight gain (ADG) feed conversion ratio (FCR). Significant effects however noted intake (FI) of spleen. ecocomic terms one the most expensive (#30.03/kg) cheapest (#15.85/kg). Birds Treatment elicited highest cost/kg 314.13/kk it cost #160.50 1kg by 4. results obtained this study indicated both PKC DOC can be used some appreciable extent cockerels. use considerably costs

The Nutritive Value of Palm Kernel Cake for Animal Feed

In Malaysia, most of the PKC produced are from expeller extraction. Though solvent extraction is also used in the extraction of palm kernel oil but the process is costly and screw press extraction (expeller) is the rule in many palm oil processing plants. The difference in the quality of expeller PKC and solvent extracted is small, although in general expeller PKC contains more oil (4%-8%) than...

Effects of Dietary Inclusion of Palm Kernel Cake and Palm Oil, and Enzyme Supplementation on Performance of Laying Hens

A total of 392 twenty eight week-old laying hens was used to study the effects of dietary inclusion of solvent-extracted palm kernel cake (PKC) (0%, 12.5% and 25%) and enzyme (mixture of mannanase, α-galactosidase and protease) supplementation (0 kg/t, 1 kg/t and 2 kg/t) on the performance of laying hens. The levels of PKC did not significantly influence nitrogen corrected true metabolizable en...

Use of Palm Kernel Cake and Oil Palm By-Products in Compound Feed

Compound feed is a mixture of feed ingredients obtained from various sources. A feed ingredient is only a constituent of a compound feed and if used as the sole ration fed, has to be enriched further. The composition of a compound feed is determined by three main criteria, i.e. price, nutritional composition and the animal characteristics. The nutritional composition of a compound feed varies d...

The effects of palm kernel cake based diet on spermatogenesis in Malin x Santa-Ines rams.

Testes from nine male Malin x Santa-Ines rams with an average body weight of 43.1+/-3.53 kg, were used to study the effects of palm kernel cake (PKC) based diet on spermatogenic cells and to assess copper (Cu) levels in liver, testis and plasma in sheep. Animals were divided into three groups and randomly assigned three dietary treatments using restricted randomization of body weight in complet...

Electrochemical Immunosensor for the Detection of Aflatoxin B1 in Palm Kernel Cake and Feed Samples

Palm kernel cake (PKC) is the solid residue following oil extraction of palm kernels and useful to fatten animals either as a single feed with only minerals and vitamins supplementation, or mixed with other feedstuffs such as corn kernels or soy beans. The occurrence of mycotoxins (aflatoxins, ochratoxins, zearalenone, and fumonisins) in feed samples affects the animal's health and also serves ...
